We are continuing our journey on learning about Peru! Since beginning this project, we have been able to use our iPads, textbooks, worksheets and more! We have acquired so much more information, and are now very educated about Peru. Here is some information that we have learned so far:
All of the facts listed came from the students in 3L!
- Peru's rain forest is called the "selva".
- Peru's capital city is Lima.
- Peru's flag is similar to the Canadian flag, but in the middle there is a coat of arms.
- Peru's land forms are called: costa, selva and sierra.
- There is a volcano in Peru.
- The mountain range is called the Andes mountains. Oxygen on the mountains is lacking.
- The air can be polluted in cities in Peru.
- People that live high up in the mountains get sarache (altitude sickness).
- They speak three languages.
- They eat boiled crabs and guinea pigs.
- In the rain forest there are thousands of plants, insects and animals.
- Some people even live in the selva (rain forest).
