Grade 3L was SUPER excited to learn some different ways to join toothpicks! Can you figure out the 3 materials we used? We might have eaten SOME of the joints after, too! Today we learned our new Social Studies country: Tunisia!!! We learned about Tunisia's flag, and then got to play some games to review the world! Today for art we mixed arts with crafts and did 3 different art stations! We made scrapbook pumpkins, resistance art spider webs, and colored some fun Halloween coloring sheets. We had tons of fun! Today we started our very first Math project. We did surveys to find out our classmates favorite things. Here is a couple photos that were taken when we were doing our surveys.
I just wanted to take the time to welcome all of the students, parents and staff back to a new school year! We are so excited for the year ahead and all of the great learning that will be happening this year.
All of 3L's important information will be posted online - as we are trying to stray away from using paper. Please check our blog regularly, as classroom and school news, as well as fun pictures of learning will be posted! Have an excellent year, Miss Laszuk Today we had our butterfly release party with Mrs. Standish's grade 3 class as well as Mrs. Lord's Kindergarten students! It was not very warm or sunny, so the butterflies did not want to come out. With a bit of help, we got the butterflies out of their cage and were able to hold them before they flew out into the wilderness! It was a lot of fun. Last week we got some new classroom pets- some caterpillars! We are fortunate that every student in our class has his or her own caterpillar to observe as it turns from a Larva to a Chrysalis and eventually into a butterfly! It is neat to see them change so quickly!!
Today all of the Grade 3 students came together to celebrate their Social studies unit on the country of Ukraine.
Yesterday they went through stations- decorating Ukrainian Eggs and bread as well as making pierogies (taught by Miss Laszuk's dad, Mr. Laszuk!!!) Today we all had the chance to try the pierogies we made as well as some Ukrainian borscht. |
