We are finished writing our island stories! To celebrate, we read our stories and showed our island maps to Ms. Fleckenstein's grade 1 class! Student led conference forms were sent home today. Here is some information about how they will run this time around. See you on March 25th and 26th! Please make plans to join your child for a student-led conference. Student-led conferences are an alternative to traditional parent-teacher interviews. They allow your child to take on the role of leading the meeting, giving them responsibility and ownership for their learning and providing you with hands-on information about your child’s growth so far this school year.
The format for our conference night is this:
Just a friendly reminder that this is your Grade 3 child’s time to shine; please make other arrangements for siblings so that your child can have your full attention. Other families will be participating at the same time, so please honor this request. Wow! We are all so excited to have new books in our classroom library! St. Patrick's bought about 55 new books for us! There are a ton of non-fiction books- National geographic and encyclopedias, as well as some fiction books- Littlest Pet Shop, Lego and Fly Guy!

In order to be entered to win these prizes, you must keep track of when you brush your teeth on the calendar provided. At the end of the month, return your calendar to Miss Laszuk. Your calendar is your ticket into the draw.
On Thursday and Friday this week we had the opportunity to build structures with straws and straw connectors. We began as 4 separate groups with 4 members in each group. On Thursday, our structures looked pretty neat, but then we got a surprise on Friday: our groups were merged into 2 large groups!! Look at how tall our structures got when groups were combined! It's been awhile since we have posted about our artwork. Check out these giraffes that we made using crayons and watercolors to create resistance art.
They look AWESOME! This week we learned how to play a new math game! It was a lot of fun! |
